1.2 Features

The following are features of the MD8470A.

(1) A platform superb in flexibility and expandability

Multiple specifications can be tested with one MD8470A unit as it

comes loaded with corresponding units and options. It is suitable

for dual terminal development of W-CDMA and GSM/GPRS, and de-

velopment of service corresponding to both systems.

(2) Wide frequency band

The MD8470A supports a wide frequency range for flexibly respond-

ing to the frequency expansion of future systems.

(3) Compact size

The MD8470A is designed considering space-savings, and offers a

personal development environment.

(4) Supports various bearers

The MD8470A supports various bearers required for application de-

velopment with data communication. It also comes with built-in

PPP server functions required for IP network connections.

(5) Equipped with various interfaces.

The MD8470A is equipped with Ethernet, ISDN, Handset, Serial I/O

and other interfaces as it supports various data transmission serv-

ices.

(6) Loaded with Windows XP Professional®

The MD8470A comes loaded with Windows XP Professional and can

control simulations without using an external PC (it also supports

simulation control using external PCs).
