VACUUM MOTOR - CARBON BRUSH INSPECTION, REPLACEMENT
The Carbon Brushes in the vacuum motor should be checked once each year, or every 1000 hours of opera-
tion. They should be replaced if they are worn to a length of 3/8 inch (10 mm) or less.
To inspect the brushes . . .

Turn the key switch OFF and disconnect the battery connector (behind the right rear access door).

Lift the operator’s seat and put the prop rod in position to hold it up.

See Figure 3. Remove the (4) “C” cap nuts (2 on each side of the motor) and the (2) “D” brush covers.

Remove the brush retaining clips and the carbon brushes from the motor.

VACUUM MOTOR REMOVAL

Turn the key switch OFF and disconnect the battery connector (behind the right rear access door).

Lift the operator’s seat and put the prop rod in position to hold it up.

Disconnect the vacuum motor wiring connector.

See Figure 3. Remove the (3) “E” screws and baffle “F”, then lift the motor out of the machine.
