SCRUB BRUSH SYSTEM
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
GENERAL INFORMATION
The 4 disc-type scrub brushes on the front of the machine are driven by a single scrub brush motor (see item
“A” on Figure 1). The motor is located on top of the left scrub brush gear case. A poly-v belt (“B”) connects
the motor to the input shaft on the left gear case. The output shaft on the left gear case drives the input shaft
on the right gear case through a flexible coupler (“C”).
Rubber skirts at both sides of the scrub brushes confine water to the area covered by the squeegee and wipe
water from the floor in front of the drive (front) wheels.
The brush drive assembly (including the
side skirts) is raised and lowered by an
electric actuator (“D”). The actuator is
controlled by the brush switch (on the
dashboard), 2 limit switches (“E”) and 2
solenoids.
The brush motor starts when the brush
switch (on the dashboard) is put in the
ON (I) position and drive pedal is
pressed. Once the brush motor starts,
an electronic time delay keeps it running
for 5 seconds after the drive pedal is
released. When the brush switch on the
dashboard is put in the OFF (O) posi-
tion, the brush motor stops immediately
and the brush lift actuator raises the
brushes off the floor.
