SCRUB BRUSH BELT TENSION ADJUSTMENT
Adjust the belt tension if the belt squeals when the brushes are lowered, or if the belt moves out of position on
its pulleys.
To adjust the belt tension...
1
Turn the key switch ON and put the brush switch in the ON (I) position. When the brushes are all the way
down, turn the key switch OFF and disconnect the battery (connector behind the right-rear door).
2
See Figure 2. Open the access panel on the front of the machine (held closed by 3 screws), loosen the
(2) “G” bolts and back them out 3 or 4 turns.
3
Reach under the front of the machine and turn the (2) “H” bolts counter-clockwise to tighten the belt.
When adjusted properly, the belt should move about 1/4" (6 mm) when moderate pressure is applied
between the (2) pulleys.
4
Tighten the (2) “G” bolts.
5
Measure the distance between plate “I” and the top of the gear case at each of the “H” bolts to make sure
that the motor is not tilted. If the distance is not equal at both bolts, loosen the “G” bolts and readjust.
