This button is used to play the disk forward from the current
position. If the
button is pressed while the Var Play function is
OFF, then the disk plays at +1.000 times (normal) play speed. If
the
button is pressed while the Var Play function is ON, then
the forward play speed is determined by the value of the most-
recently used Var Play speed value (from –3.000 to +3.000 times
normal play speed).
When
is pressed, the LED within the button is illuminated to
indicate that disk playback is underway.
All other transport buttons (except for and ) are canceled
and thus turned OFF by pressing the
button. The Record and
Auto Edit functions can be canceled only by pressing the
button.
The button is used for two functions: in conjunction with the
numeric keypad, it’s used to set a new recording duration (without
actually performing a record operation). The other function is used
in conjunction with the
button, to actually initiate a direct
record operation. By pressing down and holding the button,
followed by a press of the
button, the record operation begins,
using the currently set record duration.
During the time the button is held down by itself, the LED
within the button illuminates, while at the same time, the currently
set record duration is displayed in the main numeric readout on the
Attaché control panel:
00.00.05.00=RDur
If the button is released prior to pressing the
button, then the
LED within the button immediately extinguishes, and the main
numeric readout returns to displaying the current disk (playback)
position.
