Places the Attaché in Segment Play mode. The label in
the Playback Mode area of the status menu overlay
reads “
Seg
”. Segment Play mode restricts the disk
playback to material that has been defined in a segment
playback list, as defined in the Segments Menu.
Because the Attaché is a random-access device, the
segment arrangement may be in either a random or
sequential order, in effect providing an internal cuts-
only editor.
When the Segment Play mode is active with at least
one segment defined in the play list, the disk transport
controls will command the disk motion according to the
play list. Disk playback is strictly limited to the area
defined by the segment(s) in the play list.
While operating in the 525 line standard, you may
select
Cine
to place the Attaché in Cine Play mode.
The label in the Playback Mode area of the status
menu overlay reads “
Cine
”. You may use this mode to
play back material transferred from film that was
originally recorded at 24 frames per second. While the
Cine Play mode is active, the disk plays the material
with a 3:2 sequence added to the video, thus converting
the video from 24 frames per second to the video
standard of 30 frames per second.

Cine There are five distinct phases in which the 3:2 sequence
can be added. The default is 1, and you may change the
phase by typing a number from 1 through 5 on the
numeric keypad, and pressing the
softkey
while Cine is active.
While the Cine play mode is active, the area of the
status menu overlay that displays the disk timecode
indicates: a) Cine add feature; b) current cine phase;
and c) current cine timecode reporting mechanism
(“normal” or “cine”). This status is encoded into the
timecode readout portion of the status menu display,
