For purposes of Loop and Ping-Pong play repeat
functions, when the
Use Seg ID
parameter is selected,
the OUT point is considered to be “inclusive”. For
example, if IN point is Seg 2, and the OUT point is Seg
4, a loop playback will play segments 2, 3, and 4
(segment 4 is included). When the
Use Seg ID
parameter is selected, the play repeat is restricted to
segment ID boundaries. It’s not possible to play only a
portion of a given segment. If this is desired, then
toggle to the
Use Timecode
parameter (see below).

Use Timecode
Interprets the number entered as an HMSF timecode or
a frame value (depending upon the system timecode
setting), rather than as a segment ID number. With the
Use Timecode
parameter selected, marking any IN or
OUT points during segment play will result in a marked
timecode value, rather than a marked segment ID. This
timecode value is marked with respect to the “Segment
Play Timeline”, rather than from the “Normal Play
timeline”. The segment play timeline starts at the first
frame of the first segment, and ends at the last frame of
the last segment.
For purposes of Loop and Ping-Pong play repeat
functions, when the “
Use Timecode
” parameter is
selected, the OUT timecode point is “exclusive”. For
example, if the IN point is set to timecode 00.00.05.00,
and the OUT point is to timecode 00.00.12.15, a loop
playback will play segments from 00.00.05.00 forward
to 00.00.12.14 (the frame at timecode 00.00.12.15 is
not included). When the
Use Timecode
parameter is
selected, you may define play repeat IN and OUT
points that are anywhere within the segments


not restricted to segment ID boundaries.
