By default, the PreRead operation is destructive
(immediate write after read). By using the “PreRead
Offset” parameter (softkey

) within this setup

menu, you may specify an offset for the PreRead record
operation. This value may be set as high as two
minutes (2:00:00) away from the playback point on
disk.

PGM Delay

While PGM Delay is active, executing a record
command will start the recording immediately, but the
video & key output from Attaché will show the first
frame of the recording as a “black frame”, frozen for the
duration of the specified program delay. During this
interval, the audio output from Attaché is muted. The
video, key & audio outputs are then updated with off-
disk playback as soon as the delay value has elapsed.
When this occurs, the Attaché begins playing the off-
disk video, key & audio from the point where the
recording was started.

This function normally defaults to no program delay.
There is a parameter within the setup menu (softkey

Program Delay

) which allows you to

specify a program delay as little as 1 frame, and up to a
maximum of two minutes (2:00:00).

Confidence

This recording function is quite similar to Program
Delay, except that with Confidence recording, the
“offset” value is ignored, and no playback offset is
utilized. Therefore, when a recording is executed, the
video, key & audio outputs from Attaché immediately
present the off-disk playback as soon as the recording is
started, and continues to play the newly recorded
material during the entire recording interval.

Normal

The default setting. The Attaché records in a normal
manner, with no special handling of the video/audio
material. This extinguishes all three LEDs next to the
record mode button.
