Community String
The
Community
field is initialized to the read/write community string
specified for the device in the 3Com Network Director
Properties
dialog
box. See
“Viewing Device Details”
on
page 229
.
Clicking
Edit
launches the
Edit Community
dialog box, which allows you
to specify an alternative community string to be used to retrieve RMON
data from the selected device.
View
The selected
View
determines the data that will be displayed when the
RMONView
window is launched. Clicking on
Edit/Create View
allows you
to select what data will be displayed in the view. The supplied predefined
views are:

Predefined Views
Stations
The
Stations
list allows you limit the displayed RMON matrix data to that
associated with specific hosts on the network. If the
Stations
list is empty
data will be collected for all hosts seen by the device. If the
Stations
list
has at least one entry, data shown will be only for conversations involving
listed hosts.
Matrix Flow
Determines whether to display the retrieved matrix data sorted by
destination MAC address followed by source MAC address (
Destination >
Source
) or by source address followed by destination MAC address
(
Source > Destination
). This option is useful if you want to view data
to
a
specified host in the
Stations
list, or
from
a specified station.
Predefined View

Octets sent between pairs of hosts
seen by the device
Error
Error packets sent between pairs of
hosts seen by the device
Packet
Packets sent between pairs of hosts
seen by the device.
