6.2.1 Advanced Internet Access Setup
Use this screen to edit your ZyXEL Device's advanced WAN settings. Click the
Advanced
Setup
button in the
Internet Access Setup
screen. The screen appears as shown.

The following table describes the labels in this screen.
Connection

Nailed-Up Connection
when you want your connection up all the time.
The ZyXEL Device will try to bring up the connection automatically if it is
disconnected.

when you don't want the connection up all the time
and specify an idle time-out in the
Max Idle Timeout
field.

Specify an idle time-out in the

. The default setting is 0, which means the Internet session will not
timeout.

Setup
RIP Direction
RIP (Routing Information Protocol) allows a router to exchange routing information
with other routers. Use this field to control how much routing information the ZyXEL
Device sends and receives on the subnet.

Multicast
Multicast packets are sent to a group of computers on the LAN and are an
alternative to unicast packets (packets sent to one computer) and broadcast
packets (packets sent to every computer).
IGMP (Internet Group Multicast Protocol) is a network-layer protocol used to
establish membership in a multicast group. The ZyXEL Device supports both IGMP
version 1 (
IGMP-v1
) and
IGMP-v2
. Select
None
to disable it.
