W13(A,B)
Jumpers W13 A and B control the enabling
and disabling of the RS-422/485 drivers
available on serial channel 2.
Install W13A to disable the drivers uncondi-
tionally.
Remove both W13A and W13B to enable the
drivers unconditionally, as for an RS-422
interface.
Install W13B to allow control of the enabling
and disabling of these drivers through the
INIT control line available on the printer
port, as for an RS-485 interface.
This
assumes this printer port signal is not going
to be used.
Note: STD DOS assumes INIT is used for this
purpose, so the ZT 90039 printer cable dis-
connects J6 pin 6 (INIT) from the printer, which
is acceptable for most printers (see Chapter 9).
