ChipScope Pro Analyzer Features
connected to the receiver of a particular GTZ transceiver channel. If the channel is linked
(green), the measured line rate is displayed. If the channel is not linked, it displays
NO
Link
(red).
The
PLL Status
indicator shows the lock status of the PLL that is connected to the GTZ
transceiver. The valid states of this status indicator are
TX & RX LOCKED
(green) or
TX &
RX NOT LOCKED
(red).
The
CTLE Tuning
control is used to tune the continuous time linear equalizer circuit inside
the GTZ transceiver on a per-lane basis. Pressing the
Internal
button will perform the
tuning sequence for near-end loopback mode and will put the transceiver into this mode.
Pressing the 'External' button will perform the tuning sequence for external connectivity
and take the transceiver out of near-end loopback mode.
The
Channel Reset
button resets the GTZ transceiver channel by clearing and resetting all
internal PMA and PCS circuitry as well as the related fabric interfaces.
The
TX Reset
and
RX Reset
buttons reset the transmitter and receiver circuitry inside the
GTZ transceiver channel and related fabric interfaces.
The
TX Polarity Invert
setting controls the polarity of the data sent out of the TX pins of the
GTZ transceiver channel. To change the polarity of the TX side of the GTZ transceiver,
check the TX Polarity Invert box.
The
TX Bit Error Inject
button inverts the polarity of a single bit in a single transmitted
word. The receiver endpoint of the channel that is connected to this transmitter should
detect a single bit error.
The
TX Diff Output Swing
combo box controls the differential swing of the transmitter.
Change the value in the combo box to change the swing.
The
TX Pre-Cursor
and
TX Post-Cursor
combo boxes control the amount of pre-emphasis
on the transmitted signal. Change the value in the combo boxes to change the pre-
emphasis settings.
The
RX Polarity Invert
setting controls the polarity of the data received from the RX pins
of the GTZ transceiver channel. To change the polarity of the RX side of the GTZ
transceiver, check the
RX Polarity Invert
box.
BERT Settings
The
TX/RX Data Pattern
settings are used to select the data pattern that is used by the
transmit pattern generator and receive pattern checker, respectively. These patterns
include PRBS 7, 15, 23, and 31, and Clk 2x and 10x.
The
BERT Settings
also include RX Received Bit Counter, RX Bit Error Count, and Bit Error
Ratio (BER) indicator. Use the
BERT Reset
button to reset these counters.
Clocking Settings
The
TXUSRCLK Freq (MHz)
and
RXUSRCLK Freq (MHz)
indicators show the
approximate clocking frequency (in MHz) of the TXUSRCLK and RXUSRCLK ports of the
GTZ transceiver. The accuracy of these status indicators depends on the frequency of the
system clock that was specified at compile time.
DRP Settings Panel
The
DRP Settings
panel contains a table that is made up of one or more vertical columns
and horizontal rows. Each column represents a specific active GTZ transceiver octal group
