5.3 Common Menu Items
Sets to activate/inactivate the Salutation port when the power is on.
The candidate values are as follows:
• Enabled
Activates the port in use by Salutation when the power is on. Select this when using
the network scanner driver.
• Disabled (Default)
Inactivates the port in use by Salutation when the power is on.
This item is displayed when the interface card (for Ethernet 100BASE TX/5) is installed.
• ftp Client*
Sets to activate/inactivate the ftp Client port when the power is on.
The candidate values are as follows:
• Enabled
Activates the port in use by ftp Client when the power is on. Select this when using
the CentreWare Scan Service.
• Disabled (Default)
Inactivates the port in use by ftp Client when the power is on.
This item is displayed when the interface card (for Ethernet 100BASE TX/5) is installed.
• EtherTalk*
Sets to activate/inactivate the EtherTalk port when the power is on.
The candidate values are as follows:
• Enabled
Activates the port in use by EtherTalk when the power is on.
• Disabled (Default)
Inactivates the port in use by EtherTalk when the power is on.
This item is displayed when the interface card (for Ethernet 100BASE TX/5) is installed.
Initialisation
Executes the initialisation of NV memory and hard disk. It can also execute system reset. NV
memory is the nonvolatile memory that maintains the printer setting contents even after the
power has been switched off.
• Initialise NVRam
Executes initialisation of NV memory.
• Init Hard Disk* (when the internal hard disk is installed)
Executes initialisation of the hard disk.
• System Reset
Executes system reset.
• The following processes are carried out when system reset is executed:
- Read setting content registered in the start up memory.
- Clear all data stored in the various memory domains.
• The self-performed system reset during menu operation takes some time to
return to ready-to-print state.
• When the external additional hard disk is installed, the form/log data will
not be cleared as they are stored in the hard disk.
