Ending a seam
Beginning and ending a cover seam
3.
Place the fabric under the cover presser foot.
• The needles must be above the fabric.
Attention: There are two options to place the needle threads under
the cover presser foot:
Option 1
• Pull the needle threads under the presser
foot of the cover using tweezers
• Make sure that the needle threads do not
wrap around the needles
• The needles and the needle threads must
be threaded from front to back
• The thread must run through the throat
plate (needle groove)
• Place all needle threads to the left and
lower the presser foot
• Turn the hand wheel towards you and
sew 3 to 5 stitches manually by turning
the hand wheel
• Slowly and gently push the foot controller
to start sewing
• Do not sew beyond the fabric
• Stop the cover at the end of the seam
• Turn the hand wheel anti-clockwise once
• The seam is slightly tacked
• Lift the presser foot
• The threads can now be easily pulled out
of the cover
• Now, sew the cut-off starting and ending
threads into the fabric by means of a thick
darning needle
• The cover seam has been made and
sewn into the fabric by means of a hand
needle
