• Configuration Files - describes the purpose and content of the configuration
files used by authentication. This information is useful if you have to
modify these files or if troubleshooting is necessary.

available for configuring authentication. Detailed descriptions are in
Appendix A, “NetBackup Commands.”
• To Configure Authentication - describes the basic steps for configuring
authentication.
• Examples - contains examples of common configurations.
Configuration Files
The following configuration files are used by the authentication software.
Some of them may have to be modified during configuration.

These files are in the following locations:
Windows NT, 98, 95: install_path
\NetBackup\var\auth
directory
UNIX:

methods.txt
The
methods.txt
file defines the supported authentication methods and must
exist for authentication to occur. One method is currently supported:

- one-time password authentication
The method is on a separate line that shows the method number, method
name, and the path to a shared library:
