Note:
After changing NetBackup configuration options on the master server,
stop and restart all NetBackup services and utilities on that server. This ensures
that the new server values are used by all the NetBackup processes that require
them (a process reads these files only when it begins).
To Change NetBackup Properties for a Media Server
1. In the NetBackup Administration window, click NetBackup Configuration
on the Start menu.
The Configuration - NetBackup window appears.
2. Select the master server for the cluster to which the media server belongs.
3. If there is more than one NetBackup master server, verify that the window
shows the one that has the media server where you want to change the
properties.
To change master servers:
a. On the File menu, click Change Server on the File menu.
b. In the Change Master Server dialog box, specify the master server.
c. Click OK.
If you encounter problems, see “Remote Administration” on page 195.
4. In the left pane, click + to the left of the master server to expand it. Then
click Media Servers.
The list of media servers appears in the right pane.
5. Select the media servers whose properties you are changing and click a
Properties command on the File menu.
The Media Server Properties dialog box appears.
6. Click the tab with the properties you want to change and make the desired
changes.
For information, on changing the properties, see the online help for the
dialog box. Or, refer to Appendix D, “NetBackup Properties,” in this
manual.
7. When your changes are complete, click OK.
