NetBackup Properties
467
D
On a UNIX client, if the
$HOME/bp.conf
file specifies an address, NetBackup
also sends status on the success or failure of user operations to that address.
Logging Enabled
Used for debug purposes, and controls the amount of information that the
Windows NT NetBackup server writes to its logs. To change the value, select
the check box and enter the new value in the Verbose logging level box.
Supported values are 0 through 99. Use 0 through 10 for general use. Use
higher levels only for debugging. The default is 0 (no logging).
CAUTION !
Use the default setting of zero unless advised otherwise by
VERITAS technical support. The logs can accumulate large amounts of
information.
Universal Settings Tab
The Univeral Settings tab defines properties that apply to both servers and
clients. The following topics explain the settings on this tab.
File Browse Timeout
Specifies the number of seconds for the client to wait for a response from the
NetBackup master server when listing files. If this time is exceeded, the user
receives a socket read failed error even if the server is still processing the
request. The default is 300 seconds.
On a UNIX client, the value in the user’s
$HOME/bp.conf
file takes
precedence if it exists.
Restore Retries
Specifies the number of times to retry a restore after a failure. The default is
zero, which is no retries. Change this setting only if problems are encountered.
