4.2.4.2 EDS file
In a text file, the
Electronic Data Sheet
, the following is specified:
•
which objects a CANopen node implements,
•
which type of objects are involved,
•
how the objects can be accessed
The format of the EDS file is defined in an individual standard, DSP 306 [CiA(2001)].
A configuration tool can load the EDS file and thus obtain information on which objects
are present and how they can be accessed.
The EDS file (file ending "
.eds
") is included in the scope of supply of encoTRive. An
excerpt from the EDS file for encoTRive follows:
