Configuring Network Security

ARP Inspection Configurations

4.1.2  Configuring ARP Defend

With ARP Defend enabled, the switch can terminate receiving the ARP packets for 300 
seconds when the transmission speed of the legal ARP packet on the port exceeds the 
defined value so as to avoid ARP Attack flood.

Choose the menu 

Network Security > ARP Inspection > ARP Defend

 to load the following 

page.

Follow these steps to configure ARP Defend:
1)  Select one or more ports and configure the parameters.

Defend

Enable the ARP Defend feature.

Speed (10-100)

pps

Specify the maximum number of the ARP packets that can be received on the 

port per second. The valid values are from 10 to 100 pps (packet/second), and 

the default value is 15.

Current Speed 

(pps)

Displays the current speed of receiving the ARP packets on the port.

Status

Displays the status of the ARP attack:

Normal

: The forwarding of ARP packets on the port is normal.

Drop ARP300sec

: The speed of receiving the ARP packets has exceeded the 

specified value, and the port will drop the received ARP packets in the next 300 

seconds.
