Removable 120-mm Fan Housing
The RES-32DCX contains two high-speed 120-mm fans within two separate fan
housings (one fan per housing). Both the front and rear fan housings (see
Figure 2-7
)
are removable for replacement in the event of a fan failure.
2.1.5.1 Removing the 120-mm Fan Housing
Perform the following steps to remove a 120-mm Fan Housing:
1.
Make sure the system is powered off (see “Operation” on page 2-16).
2.
Select the 120-mm-fan housing that you want to replace and, with a Phillips
screwdriver, loosen the two captive knurled screws (one at each end) until the
housing is released from the chassis.
3.
Four twisted wires form the cabling system of each housing. Carefully remove
the 4-wire cable from its connector on the motherboard, remembering where
each cable was attached.
4.
The 120-mm-fan housing can now be removed from the RES-32DCX chassis.
