• How to install a memory module, SCSI hard-disk drive, PCI card, 120-mm-fan

housing, power supply, and lithium battery.

• Rack-mount brackets

• How to turn the RES-32DCX on and off

2.1

Installation Procedures

To install or replace a SCSI

hard-disk drive

power supply

, skip the next section

and proceed directly to page 2-6 or page 2-12, respectively. Replacement of mother-
board components require removal of the chassis protective cover.

2.1.1

Remove Protective Top Cover

To access a motherboard component, open the RES-32DCX as follows:

Caution:

Use industry-standard ESD grounding techniques when handling all

components. Wear an antistatic wrist strap and use an ESD-protected mat. Store
ESD-sensitive components in antistatic bags before placing them on any surface.

Handle all IC cards by the front panel or edges only.
