RES-32DCX Installation Manual
2.1.3
SCSI/SATA II Hard-Disk Drive
Perform the following steps to remove and install a hard-disk drive, which may be
either SCSI or SATA II.
The front bezel of the RES-32DCX must be unlocked and opened to access the
SCSI/SATA II hard-disk drives.
2.1.3.1 Opening the RES-32DCX Front Bezel
(required for Disk Drive access)
To access the removable hard-disk drives (and optional floppy and tape drives), you
must first open the Front Bezel (see
Figure 1-3
on page 1-3). The pushbutton lock
on the front of the RES-32DCX allows the bezel to open without a key (see
Figure
2-4
). To unlock the pushbutton lock, press the pushbutton and pull the bezel cover
away from the chassis.
The accessory kit shipped with your RES-32DCX contains two barrel lock keys
(
Figure 1-6
on page 1-20). This provides you the option of locking the front bezel.
After opening the front bezel cover, perform the following steps to remove and
install a hard-disk drive.
Note:
For SCSI drives, the lower left-hand removable disk drive (SCSI ID0) is
designated as the boot drive. For SATA II drives, the upper left-hand removable
disk drive (SATA II ID0) is designated as the boot drive.
