6.2.2 MAINTENANCE OF STEERING GEARBOX
(1) Disassembling the steering gearbox

Hold the pitman arm in a vise, and remove the
fixing nut.

Move the pitman arm till the slit mark on the
end surface of the sector shaft faces down, then
hold the steering gear in a vise. Remove the
pitman arm, using a puller.
Note: Do not give any shock when removing the
pitman arm.

Remove the potentiometer cover. Then remove
the potentiometer.
Note:
Be sure not to remove the potentiometer
unless necessary.

Remove the front cover.
