CAUTION: Unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing
Note: The direct air motor will not function if the vacuum is in the upright position. The tools
knob must fully engaged in the Tools On position as well.
1. First ensure that the jam light is not activating. If it is see pages 64-65 to troubleshoot a jam condition.
2. Make sure the tools on/off knob is all the way in the “Tools On” position (Fig. A.) The knob must be
fully engaged in the “Tools On” position and the vacuum must be in the operating position.
3. Remove one (1) screw to take off the cover plate for the roto-valve switch (Fig. B.)
4. Use a multimeter set to ohms to check the continuity through the roto-valve switch (Fig. C.)
5. If continuity is not presetnt with the switch closed then replace the switch. See page __ for instruc
tions. If continuity is present proceed to the next step.
