CAUTION: Unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing.
1. Remove the handle assembly from the vacuum and dissasemble the handle grip as shown on page 23.
2. Disconnect power cord lead from switch by squeezing the tab on the flag connector with needle nose
pliers as shown (Fig. A.)
3. Disconnect the white leads. The easiest way is to use two pairs of pliers as shown (Fig. B.). Grip the
connectors with the back part of the pliers and press the tips together to separate the connectors.
4. Remove the screw for the upper cord hook base to remove the upper cord hook assembly (Fig. C.)
5. Remove and discard the old cord.
6. Connect the leads from the new cord Route the cord under the cord hook base as shown in Fig. D and
re-attach upper cord hook assembly .
7. Reassemble the handle grip. Route all wires properly. Be careful not to pinch any wires in the
process. Make sure the switch is in properly with the off side towards the top of the handle.
