CAUTION: Unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing
The R30 is equipped with a lifetime belt. This belt should not need to be replaced regularly like stretch
belts on other vacuum cleaners. However the belt may become damaged and need to be replaced. If this
happens frequently follow the steps below.
1. Check the agitator by removing it from the machine. Make sure that it is free and spins easily. If the
agitator is hard to spin it may need service or replacement.
2. Check the motor pulley. Clean any residue or grit from the belt pulley. Inspect the grooves of the belt
pulley (Fig. A.) If they are damaged or seem sharp, replace motor.
3. Check that the hall sensor is working properly. Turn the machine on and suck up a large shop towel or
use the shoe from the demo kit. If the jam fuction does not activate then replace the PC
board. See page 49 for instructions on replacing the PC board.
