CAUTION: Unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing
1. Visually check the power cord for damage. If damaged replace and retest. If no damage is present test
cord as follows.
2. Disassemble handle grip by removing the upper cord hook screw, cord hook and base. Then remove
the six (6) screws.
3. Disconnect the cord leads.
4. Using a multimeter check the cord for continuity through the positive and neutral sides. Put one pin
from the multimeter on the small blade of the wall plug (Fig. A) and the other on the black power cord
wire that was connected to the switch (Fig. B) The meter will read 0.00 if continuity is present.
5. Repeat with the steps with the neutral wire (Fig C and D.)
If continuity is not present then replace cord. If cord tests good then proceed to the next step.
