CAUTION: Unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing
1. Check that the handle screw is tight. If screw is loose, tighten it and retest.
2. Visually check the power cord for damage. If damaged replace and retest. If no damage is present test
for power through the handle as follows.
3. Remove the handle screw and pull the handle out of the machine.
4. Using a multimeter check for continuity (Ohms) through the positive and neutral sides. Put one pin
from the multimeter on the small blade of the wall plug (Fig A.) and the other on the the top right pin
on the connector at the end of the handle (Fig. B.) Make sure the on/off switch is in the “On” position.
The meter will read 0.00 if continuity is present Repeat this step with the large blade on the wall plug
and the front right pin on the connector (Fig. D.) The multimeter should read 0. If continuity is not
present then proceed to the next step to check the switch and power cord. If continuity is present then
skip to page 60.
