Sunny Boy 700 - Configuration of the Input Voltage
The Sunny Boy is designed for a nominal output power of 700 W with approximately
10 modules with 36 to 40 cells each. This results in an input voltage of 125 V to
250 V DC.
The Sunny Boy 700 can be specially configured in order to be able to process volt-
ages from PV-generators with less than 10 modules (with 36 to 40 cells each). PV-
module strings with 8 or only 6 modules are possible, which produce a voltage of
100 V to 200 V DC or 75 V to 150 V DC.
Reduction of the input voltage results in a reduction of the output power
of the Sunny Boy 700.
•
100 V to 200 V results in a nominal output power of 600 W
•
75 V to 150 V results in a nominal output power of 450 W
It may be necessary to configure the Sunny Boy 700 input voltage
range according to the number of connected PV-modules. This is
done with the jumpers and the adapter blocks on the boards inside
the inverter. The configuration must be done with the inverter defi-
nitely disconnected from the grid and the PV-modules. The default
input voltage range of the Sunny Boy 700 is 125 V to 250 V DC.
