SECTION 1 | GENERAL INFORMATION & OPERATING PROCEDURES
1.2.3.7 | Operating Generator Set
Refer to the generator set Operator’s Manual for instructions on starting
and running the generator set unit. These special instructions apply:
1. The truck engine does not need to be running in order for the
generator set to function.
2. Before starting generator set engine, disconnect all loads to
generator. Selector switch on heater unit should be in off position.
3.
The off/on/start switch for the generator set is a key operated
rotary switch.
4. To shut down the generator set, disconnect all loads from the
generator and rotate the off/on/start switch to the off position.
1.2.3.8 | Operating Van Mini Split Unit
For the comfort of the passengers in the van, an electrically powered
heating/cooling unit is mounted in the van. The heating unit is powered by
the generator set. Operate heating unit as follows:
1.
Make sure the selector switch on the heater is in the off position.
2. Start generator set engine following procedures above.
3. Turn thermostat to the desired position
4.
Before shutting off the generator unit, shut off heater unit by
turning the thermostat counter clockwise
1.2.3.9 | Operating Intercom System
The 12 VDC intercom system permits communication between personnel
in the cab and the van body. The master station is located in the cab. A
sub-station is located in the van body. The intercom system functions only
when the truck ignition is switched on.
1.2.3.10 | Emergency Lift Gate Manual Override
The valve settings for normal Lift Gate operation is: valve #1 CLOSED
(LEFT), valve #2 is OPEN (RIGHT), valves #3 & #3 are OPEN (RIGHT) and
valve #4 is CENTERED.
1. To LIFT the gate:
1. Valve #1 is CLOSED (LEFT).
2. Valve #2 is OPEN (RIGHT).
3. Valve #4 is CENTERED.
4. Pump hand pump until desired height. CLOSE valve #2 (LEFT).
2. To LOWER the gate:
1. OPEN valves #1 and #2 (RIGHT)
3. To CLOSE the gate:
NOTE:
Valve #2 MUST remain
CLOSED (LEFT) to hold gate at
desired height.
