SECTION 1 | GENERAL INFORMATION & OPERATING PROCEDURES
COMPONENT
DESCRIPTION
Hour Meter
This function has now been incorporated into
the Ford Chassis. Select this function from
the information menu to display the total
accumulated running time of the engine.
Press in the selector knob to change from
odometer to trip odometer until engine hours
appears on the display.
Start Protection Relays
(K3 and K4)
The start protection relays prevent the truck
starter motor from operating while the truck
engine is running. They are located in the
main electrical relay box.
Park Switch
The OEM Ford park switch, along with park
replacement relay K6, allows operation of the
hydraulic system and controls only when the
truck transmission is in park.
Parking Brake Switch
The OEM Ford parking brake switch works
through relay K10 to allow operation of the
hydraulic system and controls only when the
parking brake is set.
Truck Chassis and Stabilizers
Back-up Alarm
This alarm sounds whenever the vehicle is
being driven in reverse or the van body or
stabilizers are being lowered.
Limit Switch, Body
Position
This limit switch shuts off the body up
warning light when the van body is fully
lowered, and prevents the transmission from
shifting into gear unless the van body is fully
lowered. It is located below the van body near
the right front corner of the scissors base.
Limit Switch, Maximum
Height
This limit switch prevents the van body from
being raised beyond its preset maximum
height. It is located inside the scissors base
near the rear axle.
Stabilizer Limit
Switches, Engine Run
Interlock
These switches are normally closed (N.C.).
There is one switch on each stabilizer. They
shut off the engine if the transmission is
shifted out of park when the stabilizers are
down. When the stabilizers are up, these
switches open and allow the truck to run.
When one or more stabilizers are down, these
switches act through relay K7 and light the
stabilizers down indicators in the cab and the
van body.
