SECTION 1 | GENERAL INFORMATION & OPERATING PROCEDURES
1.2.2 | Pre-Operation Checks
The following checks should be performed at the beginning of each day
or shift:
1. Check truck engine oil and coolant levels.
2. Check hydraulic oil level in reservoir and add oil if necessary.
3.
Check tires for proper inflation pressure.
4. Perform an all-around visual inspection and equipment check of the
entire unit. Pay special attention to the possibility of hydraulic leaks
that may happen due to damage or wear.
5.
If operating at night, check front and rear platform floodlights and
van interior lights for proper operation.
6. Inspect chassis cab in accordance with the guidelines of your airline.
7. Check lights, horn, mirrors, wipers, safety belt, and all other safety
equipment for proper operation.
8.
Ensure that van body and cab fire extinguishers are present and
fully charged.
9. Check rear lift gate for proper movement and operation. Check to
make sure it is secured in a stable position.

Before placing the unit into
service, be sure to check
fuel, engine oil, coolant, and
hydraulic oil levels.
CAUTION!
Always determine hydraulic
oil level and fill tank to proper
level with the lift and stabilizer
cylinders fully retracted. If
the cylinders are not fully
retracted, overfilling may
occur, which may damage the
system when it is operated.
