4.9 FLOOR LOCK PROCEDURES
4.9.1 Floor Lock Inspection
Inspect the floor locks as follows:
1. Verify locked table rests on floor locks and casters
rotate freely (for non-compensating floor locks; for
self-compensating floor lock system, at most one
caster may be lifted from floor).
2. Verify lock process:

At Hand Control press
FLOOR LOCK
button
then
Unlock
ICON.

Verify all four floor locks are retracted and
Hand Control LCD indicates unlocked
position.
c.
At Hand Control press
FLOOR LOCK
button
then
Lock
ICON.
d.
Verify all four floor locks are extended and all
four casters do not touch the floor for non-
compensating floor locks; for self-
compensating floor lock system, at most one
caster may be lifted from floor. Hand Control
LCD should indicate locked position.
4.9.2 Floor Lock Cylinder Inspection
At any inspection or installation of a STERIS 4085
General Surgical Table, inspect the floor lock cylinders
for leaks as follows:
1. Fully extend floor lock cylinders.
2. Visually check for signs of oil dripping from
cylinders.
3. Using a finger, check floor lock cylinder shaft for
hydraulic oil.
NOTE: A slight film of hydraulic oil is expected and
is required to lubricate the seals.
4. If amount of oil forms a drop, replace floor lock
cylinder (refer to
).
4.10 LEG SECTION CHECKS
Check the following items to ensure proper leg section
operation:
NOTE: Position STERIS 4085 General Surgical Table
to LEVEL before testing leg section.
1. Verify leg section is easily installed.
2. Ensure leg section properly locks in place. Inspect
lock/release mechanism.
3. Move table up and down and verify no part
collisions.
