7.4 TABLE BASE COVER ASSEMBLY
To gain access to most of the STERIS 4085 General
Surgical Table hydraulic and electrical components,
the stainless-steel Table Column Cover (or shroud)
and/or Table Base Cover must be removed. Remove
the Table Base Cover as follows:
7.4.1 One-Part Base Cover (Plastic)
1. Remove Table Column Cover (see
).
2. Remove and save screws at head side of base cover.
3. Remove and save screws at foot side of base cover.
4. Remove and save four screws (see Figure 7-3)
fastening base cover insert to base cover and table
frame.
5. Remove plastic base cover and cover insert. Set
aside in safe location.

7.4.2 Two-Part Base Cover (Stainless Steel)
1. Remove Table Column Cover (see
2. Remove and save screws fastening base halves to
base.
NOTE: Ensure both base cover spacers are removed from
base and saved with mounting screws.
3. Remove stainless-steel base cover and set aside in
safe location.
4. Note all locations that foam tape has been applied.
Replace tape to seal base.
7.5 SEALING TABLE COVERS
Whenever the Table Column cover assembly
(
) and/or
Table Base cover (
) are removed and then returned, the covers
need sealed to prevent fluid intrusion to meet IPX4
requirements. Seal the covers as follows:
NOTE: Remove all old sealant and clean all mating parts
before reapplying the silicone sealant. Use RTV 123 Black
Silicone Sealant (R005300-568).
7.5.1 Two-Part Base Cover (Stainless Steel)
NOTE: To aid in loosening RTV between stainless-
steel base covers for future procedures, spray Dry
Lubricant Spray NG 202 (P752870-091) along the front
base shroud edge that contacts the RTV before
applying the RTV.
1. Apply 1/4 x 3/4" closed cell foam tape (R007200-
964) to top of mounting brackets (see Figure 7-4).
Do not apply tape to portion of table base where
plastic cover touches base (see Figure 7-5).

2. Install base cover. Ensure base cover sits flush on
base (see Figure 7-5) at base cover insert opening.
