Remedy
The input gain is on the right hand side of the front panel.
Turn the gain up towards “10”, or until metering appears at the
level that you require.
Possible
Cause
You are using a dynamic microphone with the MIC/LINE
ATTEN switch on.
Remedy
Set the MIC/LINE ATTEN Switch to “off” to increase the
gain of the input.
Possible
Cause
You are doing a mono recording but are using the right
channel input.
Remedy
To do mono recordings, use the left input.
B.2.5. Communications problems
Problem I’ve received an error message saying “No Modem” when
I try to use an external modem.
Possible
Cause
Your modem has no power going to it.
Remedy
Make sure that your modem has a power supply correctly
attached and that the switch on the plug to the mains power
socket is turned to the on position.
Possible
Cause
Your GSM mobile phone is not powered up, if you are trying
to connect with it.
Remedy
Turn your mobile phone on.
Possible
Cause
Your modem / mobile phone is not correctly attached to your
Courier.
Remedy
Check that the lead from the modem or mobile phone is
correctly seated in the RS232 connection port on the left-hand
side of the Courier. Also check that the other end of the lead,
going to your modem or GSM mobile phone, is correctly
fitted.
Problem I’ve received an error message saying “Transfer Error”.
Possible
Cause
The transfer of data has been halted, due to too many retries or
too many errors.
Remedy
The line is noisy, either try again or use a different
line/location.
Problem I’ve received an error message saying “Call Cleared”.
Possible
Cause
The plug from your modem has come detached from the
telephone socket.
Remedy
Place the plug back into the telephone socket.
