Chapter 12 - connectivity
Courier User Handbook
12-10
Once the number has been dialled, the microphone input is enabled so that a live
report can be given. You can alternate between playing cuts from the disk and
speaking through the microphone.
The top three lines of the display show cuts on the disk which can be played. Use
the UP and DOWN arrow keys or the SCRUB-WHEEL to select a cut to play, and
use the tape transport keys to PLAY and STOP the cut. The signal levels are given
at the left of the screen. When the file is being played ‘C’ represents the level of the
audio being played or the mic level while ‘L’ represents the level of the Line In.
When the audio file has stopped both signals represent the Line In. On audio files
without sound information the level is replaced with X’s.
Whilst playing a cut, the highlight can be moved on to another cut, so that you can
cue it ready to play. In the bottom right hand corner is a timer which counts up
whilst the microphone is being used and counts-down when a cut is being played.
Note : When a pre-recorded cut is being played, the speaker and headphones
are muted. When the microphone input is being used, the speaker may be
muted depending on the setting of the [Speaker Mute] option. See section 5.8.5
for further information.
To exit from this screen, press the MENU button to show :
Select [Disconnect] to finish the transmission and [Redial] to redial the same
number. Use [Close] to leave this screen without making any alterations.
