6.6.2
Procedure - Remove the Upper Fan Tray Module
Before removing the upper rear fan tray module, UFT1440-D, the system must be powered
down.
1. At the rear of the shelf, loosen the two retention screws before loosening the ejector
handle screw.
NOTE:
The ejector handles are the same type as used on the ATCA blades.
2. Pull the ejector handle outward to a slightly open position to disengage the hot swap
switch.
3. Open the ejector handle to a full open position.
4. Using the handles on the front of the UFT1440-D slowly pull the FTM out of the shelf
while supporting the bottom of the module with the palm of your hand.
NOTE:
If the UFT1440-D does not come loose, check that the internal captive screw is
completely unfastened.

Procedure - Install the Upper Fan Tray Module
NOTE:
Procedure 6.6.1 must be completed in order to install the upper fan tray.
Put on an ESD wrist strap.
Connect the strap to the shelf by attaching the front or rear ESD jack.
