10) The display shown opposite will appear for five
seconds before returning to the Engineer Mode
display.
Testing the Reject Device.

a) For packaged or separate products
i) Check the setting of tm2 by passing the
product and metal contaminant through the
aperture of the detector.
ii) Check the reject device operates correctly
with the metal contaminant at both the front
and rear of the pack.
iii) Check the reject device operates correctly
with different sizes of metal contaminant.
b) For loose products
i) Check the setting of tm2 by passing the
product and metal contaminant through the
aperture of the detector.
ii) Check the reject device operates correctly
with the metal contaminant at different
positions on the conveyor belt.
iii) Check the reject device operates correctly
with different sizes of metal contaminant.
iv) Also check the reject device operates
correctly with two metal contaminants
spaced at different distances apart on the
conveyor belt.
12) If for any reason the setting of the tm2 timer is
not correct return to step 1) and repeat all the
steps.
