NOTE :
Chain type used here is for Illustrative purpose only.
Advantages
Easy to remove the old chains from the
Motorbikes without disturbing other parts.
Easy to assemble (Gauging & Riveting) the
interference fit connecting link in the Motorbikes.
Tool makes the work easier.
Working time is less, compared to other methods.
The Measurement:
1. The measurement should be taken approximately
midway between the front and rear sprocket
2. At the specified point, press the chain down and
measure from the swingarm to the top of the
chain, now press the chain upwards and measure
the difference.
3. If the measurement does not fall in the specified
range then adjustment must be made.
The Adjustment:
1. Loosen the rear wheel spindle.
2. Loosen both of the lock nuts on the adjusters.
3. Turn the adjusting nuts in small increments,
evenly on both sides, until the measured slack is
as specified dependent on condition. (Side Stand/
Centre Stand)
4. Tighten the lock nuts and wheel spindle. Re-check
the slack in the chain to confirm it, if it is still not
within specification, repeat steps 1-4.

DRIVE CHAIN SLACK AND ADJUSTMENT
To check the chain slack, place the bike on its’ side stand
or centre stand and follow the below instructions
accordingly.
Measurement
Location
Measuring the distance from the
swingarm pivot to the rear wheel spindle
on both sides can help to ensure the
wheel is adjusted evenly on both sides.
Alignment Check:
1. Check to ensure wheels are aligned, this can be
done from the measurement markings on the
swingarm adjuster or by measuring from the
swingarm pivot to each side of the rear wheel
spindle.
2. If the wheel is not aligned, correct this by repeating
the adjustments steps for alignment, on the
respective side required. Once aligned, reconfirm
chain slack and adjust if necessary.
