Safety data sheet OPC photoconductor drum
Cleaning procedure:
Never touch the drum surface with bare hands. You should only
hold the drum on its flanges during the cleaning process. Never
get the drum into contact with water, oil or organic solvents since
this would develop a very high risk of surface contamination with
residues and chemical reactions with the coating. This would
lead to premature drum wear. Never expose the drum to direct
sun radiation but have it stored in rooms as dark as possible.
Particularly see that the drum surface will not be scratched.
Recommendations:
The drum manufacturers recommend that you should refrain
from cleaning OPC drums, if possible. If cleaning of the drums
should be necessary nevertheless, proceed as follows:
First clean the surface using a dust-free cotton cloth soaked
in alcohol (ethanol).
Absolutely see that the drum is cleaned in rotational direction
only and never in opposite direction.
Then dry the drum thoroughly and wipe it once more using a
dust-free cotton cloth.
With the cleaning process using ethanol completed, slightly
wipe over the drum surface as per a/m procedure using a
dust-free cotton cloth soaked with water.
