File type
Determine the file type of the files to be scanned by selecting
between TIFF (Tagged Image File Format), JPEG (Joint
Photographic Experts Group) and PDF (Portable Document
Format).
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a file format for storing image
data that would be supplied by scanners, image acquisition devices,
drawing software and photo-processing programs. TIFF describes
and stores raster image data. TIFF is the most important file type
when image files need to be exchanged. So TIFF, for example,
supports lossfree image compression.
JPEG
(Joint Photographic Experts Group) is a standardized
method, developed September 1992, for lossy compression of
digital (natural) images named after the committee that had
developed it. JPEG (JPG in short) is one of the most spread
graphics formats for colored photos and graphics.
PDF (Portable Document Format) is a file format that acquires all
elements of a printed document in form of an
electronic image that you may display, print or
pass on.
