The OmniStor 4900F Series Storage Systems are designed for mission critical
applications requiring the highest performance with uncompromised data reliability,
such as mid-range and enterprise server storage, while maintaining exceptionally high
throughput. The storage system is ideally suited for high bandwidth data intensive
applications, such as electronic commerce, digital video, CAD, seismic research, digital
pre-press, 3-D imaging, and SAN environments.
The following are major features of the OmniStor 4900F Series Storage Systems:

2 Gb Fibre Channel-to-Fibre Channel storage system enclosure.

Hot pluggable disk drives, 12 per enclosure.

Hot pluggable cooling fan module.
n
Dual redundant AC power supplies.
n
(Optional) Dual redundant DC power supplies.
n
SES Enclosure management includes onboard environmental monitoring.
n
Designed to fit standard 19-inch rack enclosures and a deskside tower.
n
Front panel LEDs provide notifications of system component status and
logical and physical drive status.
n
Support for 16 drives per array and 64 arrays.
n
Wahoo2 RAID Controller employs an Intel XScale 600MHz RISC processor.
It also provides dual XOR engines for increased throughput processing.

512 MB or 1GB cache memory using standard DDR SDRAM.
n
(Optional) On controller embedded or installable StorView Storage
Management application. StorView Storage Management software provides a
GUI-based interface providing a robust and easy-to-use configuration and
monitoring tool.
n
Transparent failover/failback RAID Controllers in duplex Active-Active
operations.
n
On-board controller-to-host SAN LUN Mapping.
n
Mirrored Cache for write-through and write-back operations with a “Save to
Disk” feature for unlimited backup protection.
n
Operating system independence – no special software or drivers required.
