Updating the Controller Firmware
To flash the controller with new, updated, or simply reloading the firmware, obtain
the firmware file by downloading it from the support web site.

Obtain the new or updated controller firmware file. Download it from the
support web site or access the file on the Software Documentation Disc.

Connect the USB end of the
OmniStor Communication cable to the Service port
located on the RAID Controller. The cable is included with the storage system.
RS-232 Service Port Connection

Connect the other end of the cable with the DB-9 connector to either a host
system’s RS-232 serial communication port or a VT-100 type terminal port.

After the enclosure has completed its power on self test, power on your host or
terminal and start your terminal or terminal emulation software.

Verify that the communication parameters are as follows:
•
115,200 Baud
•
8 Data bits
•
1 Stop bit
•
None (parity)
•
Flow Control Off
By pressing and holding down the <Enter> key, the controller will
automatically sense and set the baud rate during boot.
