Step 5.
Close gate to verify the pinch roller rests on the drag roller and bracket does not
interfere with the pinch roller arm.
7-19 Drive-Pinch Rollers
Step 1.
Open supply cassette door.
Step 2.
Open the gate.
Step 3.
Remove the two pinch roller shaft shoulder screws.
Step 4.
Remove the pinch roller shaft assembly.
Step 5.
Remove the E-clips and slide off the pinch rollers.
Step 6.
Replace the pinch roller shaft assembly in the reverse order of removal. Follow
the pinch roller replacement tips outlined below:
• Make sure the two pinch roller shaft hex head set screws, accessed from the
rear of the gate frame, are secure against shaft shoulder screws.
• Using a 1/8" shim placed between the gate frame and gate stop pin, verify
the pinch roller just touches the drive roller. In other words, as the gate is
being closed, the pinch rollers shall come in contact with the drive roller 1/8"
before the gate reaches the stop pins. This ensures proper pinch pressure
between the drive roller and pinch rollers.
7-20 Gate Media Out Switch
Step 1.
Remove rear access panel. Refer to 7-1.

Step 2.
Open the supply cassette door.
Step 3.
Disconnect media out switch cable and ground wire.
Step 4.
Remove the media out switch cable from the cable clamps (or plastic tie wraps).
Step 5.
Remove the four media out switch bracket mounting screws.
Step 6.
Remove the two screws that secure the switch to the bracket.
Note: Reuse bracket to install replacement media out switch.
Step 7.
Replace media out switch, bracket, cable, and panel in reverse order of removal.
After installing media out switch assembly, verify the switch actuator roller does
not apply excessive pressure against media when gate is closed. If media out
switch is adjusted improperly, one or two vertical lines will appear on output copy.
