Step 4.
Remove the laser fan bracket/laser cover mounting screw.
Step 5.
Lift the laser fan assembly away from optics area and replace parts as required.
Step 6.
Replace the laser fan assembly in reverse order of removal.
7-13 SOL/SOL Amplifier Assembly
Step 1.
Open the supply cassette door.
Step 2.
Open gate and remove supply cassette.
Step 3.
Remove the four screws that secure the supply cassette bottom shield to the base
casting. (Some units may only have two screws which secure the supply cassette
bottom shield to the base casting.)
Step 4.
Carefully lift the supply cassette bottom shield upward away from SOL sensor
and disconnect smart cassette memory cable from main harness.
Step 5.
Remove the SOL cable connector from the SOL sensor. Note that the black wire
of connector is facing up.
Step 6.
Remove the two screws that mount the SOL Sensor to the bracket. Note the
position of SOL bracket.
Step 7.
Remove the two screws which secure the SOL/SOL Amplifier assembly to the
mounting bracket.
Note: Save mounting bracket for replacement SOL/SOL Amplifier Assy.
Step 8.
Replace the SOL/SOL Amplifier in reverse order of removal.
7-14 High Speed Laser Driver/Laser Tube Assembly (Refer to Figure 7-2)
Step 1.
Remove the optics cover. Refer to 7-1.D.
Step 2.
Remove the four screws which secure the laser diode cover and laser fan
(bracket) assembly, if present, to the base casting. .
Step 3.
Disconnect the cable from the HSLD PCB.
Step 4.
Verify the laser diode/tube assembly is positioned firmly against the stop block.
Step 5.
Loosen the two screws on the mounting clamp.
Step 6.
Remove the laser diode tube assembly mounting screw.
Step 7.
Carefully remove laser diode assembly. Be careful to not touch the scan lens.
Step 8.
Replace the laser diode assembly in reverse order of removal. Position the laser
diode assembly against the ramp side (toward the rear panel) and firmly against
