Step 3.
If the outlet does not meet the electrical requirements, do not proceed with the
installation. Notify the District Service Manager.
5-4 Installation Procedure
Step 1.
Position unit in pre-determined final machine location.
Note: The PantherPro/46 is factory tested and ready for installation upon customer
delivery. Skip steps 2 through 15 unless shipping damage is apparent or a malfunction
occurs.
Step 2.
Remove the electronics cover.
Step 3.
Verify that the main controller board is properly installed to the electronics
compartment.
Step 4.
Verify that the plug-in Page Buffer Module(s) are seated properly to the main
controller board (BOB/WCB) with the mounting bracket in place.
Step 5.
Inspect all cable connections going to the page buffer drives, Page Buffer
Modules, LCD/Keypad, BOB/WCB, back-light inverter board, and polygon driver
board.
Step 6.
Verify power supply AC and DC connections are secure.
Step 7.
Verify switch and jumper settings of the main controller board and Page Buffer
Module(s). Refer to Section 7.
Step 8.
Remove the optics cover and supply cassette bottom shield. Reseat all cables
connected to the High Speed Laser Amp., High Speed Laser Driver, Polygon
Motor, and SOL/SOL Amp. Assy.
Step 9.
Inspect optical bed for any debris or loose components. Verify laser stop block is
positioned against the laser tube assembly. If laser stop block is out of position,
contact Support Services.
Step 10. Make sure that iPantherPro/46 image recorder AC power switch is OFF.
Step 11. Install the AC line cord with the female end into the filter at the rear of unit and the
male end into an approved AC outlet.
Step 12. Turn imagesetter AC power switch ON.
Step 13. Check the laser fan in the optical bed and the cooling fans in the electronics
compartment for proper operation.
Step 14. Check DC voltages with a (recently calibrated) volt meter. If voltages need
adjustment, perform Step 14a.
Step 14a. Adjust the +5, -12, +12, and +12 volts to the following specifications:
