When performing maintenance routines at the customer's facility, service personnel will
ensure the safety of themselves, customer personnel and the equipment.
Maintenance often requires the removal of safety features and covers, creating potential
hazards. Ensure that all personnel in the work area are aware of and stay away from these
potential hazards.
The following list presents the most important safety considerations:
A. Caution - Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those
specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
B. Observe all electrical and mechanical safety precautions while working on machines that
have covers and panels removed and electrical components exposed.
C. Post a notice indicating that the machine is undergoing service.
D. Prevent accidental operation of the machine under service by turning off power switches
and disconnecting the ac power line cable.
E. Do not leave tools where they might cause harm to personnel and/or damage to the
machines.
F. Keep toxic, flammable and/or abrasive substances secure in their respective containers.
G. Do not wear loose clothing when performing maintenance service on any machine. Long
hair should be tied back and secured in place.
H. Report all unsafe practices to the customer's office supervisor and to your Service
Manager immediately.
I. Do not attempt any maintenance activity without the proper tools and corresponding
support documentation.
J. Upon completion of maintenance, ensure that all safety covers, panels, and devices are
replaced and fully operational.
K. Test operate machines before returning them to customer use.
