The Panel Driver deals with the LCD display and the keypad. The Process is responsible for
formatting and displaying the LCD/Keypad status and operating the menu interface system.
The PantherPro/46 contains ROM resident diagnostics and disk resident diagnostics that can
be accessed both onsite and remotely through the debug port. Many of these diagnostics can
also be accessed through the keypad.
9-1.2 The Debug Port
The Debug Port is the source of all information in the PantherPro/46. It will provide more
information about bombs as well as general information about the operation of the recorder.
To use the Debug Port, a terminal or a terminal emulation program (ANSI/VT-100) must be
connected to the debug port. The default port parameters are 9600, N, 8, 1. Refer to the
MicroPhone terminal emulation program set-up procedure below.
Microphone Setup (Macintosh)
1. Launch the "Microphone" utility program. This is a communication program.
2. Select the communication menu option in the settings window.
3. Select the following parameters in this window.
Baud Rate: 19,200 (9600) for Panther or PantherPlus
Data Bits:
8
Stop Bits:
Auto
Parity:
None
Port:
Printer
NOTE: The baud rate and port may need to be altered if communication is not
established. Verify that a debug cable is connected from the BOB/WCB debug port
on the recorder to the printer port on the Software RIP.
4. Select the terminal menu option in the settings window.
5. Select the following parameters in this window.

6. Type ^ U to reset the recorder
