SD Memory Card Security Function
Only for models with the SD Memory Card Slot.
For the SD Memory Card security function, you can configure and insert an SD Memory Card
instead of entering a password for following cases.
To use when starting the computer:
Set the Supervisor Password in the Setup Utility (
). You can also set it during
the configuration procedure.
To use when logging on to Windows / resuming from the standby or hibernation
mode, or the screensaver:
The Windows logon user and password must be set in [Control Panel] in advance. For
information on how to set the user and the password, refer to the Windows Help.
CAUTION
When handling an SD Memory Card with the security function configured
• Be careful not to lose the card.
• When stepping away from the computer, do not leave the card in the slot.
NOTE
Use the formatted SD Memory Card. (
This security function only works in the SD Memory Card slot. It does not work in
devices such as an SD card reader/writer connected through a USB connection.
