Loading and Unloading Cartridges
The Load/Unload menus enable you to specify a source and a destination for a cartridge
movement. As a result, you use exactly the same procedure to load as to unload. To load or
unload a tape from the front panel of the module, use the Load/Unload menus as follows.

The drive in the Loader has a tape loaded. When this screen indicates SDLT Idle, it
represents that the drive has a cartridge loaded and is awaiting instructions. Slot 1 of the
magazine has a cartridge present, while the remaining slots are empty.
From the Default Screen, access the Menu Mode by pressing the
Enter
button. The Main
Menu displays:

Initial Screen – From Line
- The list on line 2 (the From line) includes only the drive if a
cartridge is loaded, or every magazine slot with a cartridge in it. You can’t get a
cartridge from a slot or drive that is empty.
